Rastriya Ekta Divas: Prime Minister Modi shed tears talking about Morbi tragedy
Prime Minister Narendra Modi got emotional and teary-eyed today Monday, while talking about the tragic collapse of the Morbi Cable bridge. He was addressing the public at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat.
PM Modi is in Gujarat tour for laying the foundation stone of various projects.
PM Modi was talking about the lost lives in the devastating incident where the century-old bridge collapsed killing over 130 people. PM said what happened in Morbi was horrible and painful and he was having difficulty in choosing whether to cancel all the programs or attend.
"I am here today in Ekta Nagar, but my mind is with the victims of Morbi. Rarely in my life I have felt such pain. A sad heart full of suffering on one side and my line of duty on the other."
Troupes from across country came to Kevadia to perform traditional dances, but their programme has been cancelled due to present circumstances, PM Modi said.
